Michael Kazimir

Mike Kazimir is currently serving his third term as Committeeman in Rochelle Park.  He has served as Mayor under both Republican and Democrat majorities making him unique among Mayors for the Township.  He was first elected to the Township Committee in 2012. 

Some of his accomplishments related to his service in Rochelle Park are: Molding the redevelopment efforts to focus on the main corridors and prevent impact in the single family residential zones, Pushing for flood mitigation measures in new development projects, Protecting local history with the formation of the Rochelle Park Historic Committee and the Tyson House Committee, Advocating for a continued local response by the Rochelle Park Ambulance Corps and preventing its dissolution, and Keeping Rochelle Park as a municipality with one of  the lowest average property taxes in Bergen County.

He is currently serving as Ambulance Commissioner, OEM Liaison, Planning Board Representative, Historic Committee Liaison, and Redevelopment Committee Representative.  In addition, he has served in almost all other assigned positions within the Township including: Police Commissioner, Recreation Liaison, Fire Commissioner, Civil Right Representative, and Environmental Commissioner. 

Mike runs his own business and understands the challenges related to operating a business in New Jersey.  Early in his career, Mike worked as a policy analyst for Assemblywoman Rose Heck in NJ’s 38th Legislative District.  He worked on issues related to transportation policy, health and welfare of women and children.

Mike’s commitment to the youth of Rochelle Park is evidenced by his involvement with the Boy Scout program in town.  He is an Eagle Scout with Troop 114 and is a Board Member of the Northeast Region Scout Museum, which serves both Boy and Girl Scouts. 

Mike has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Montclair State University and a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the Bloustein School at Rutgers University.

Mike is married to his wife Anna, they have two young children.  They like to spend time together outdoors, gardening, hiking, and going to the beach.
