The Township Clerk is charged with statutory responsibility as outlined in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133. Duties include the following:

Request for Qualifications

  1.   Secretary of the Municipal Corporation
    • Custodian of the municipal seal
    • Maintain custody of all official records, including minutes, books, and contracts.
    • Attests to the signatures of municipal officers and officials.
    • Maintain receipt of service of legal documents.​
  1.   Secretary to the Governing Body
    • Prepares agendas for meetings, including the annual Reorganization Meeting.
    • Keeps the Governing Body informed of meeting rules and procedures, such as quorum requirements and Rules of Order.
    • Maintains official records of proceedings, minutes, ordinances, and resolutions.
    • Administers and records oaths of office.
    • Acts as a liaison between the public and the Governing Body.​
  1.   Chief Administrative Officer of All Elections Held in the Municipality.
    • Certifies vacancies and handles nominating petitions.
    • Certifies election results and suggests polling places. 
  1.   Chief Registrar of Voters in the Municipality.
    • Ensures that all eligible individuals can register to vote and participate in elections.​
  1.   Administrative Officer
    • Accepts and issues licenses and permits.
    • Issues assessment search certificates and certifies municipal bonds.
    • Conducts business with other municipal departments as directed by the Governing Body.
    • Maintains personnel records when required and purchases equipment and supplies as needed. 
  1.  Records Coordinator and Manager
    • Implements local archives and records retention programs as required by law.
