The Bergen County Animal Shelter holds free rabies clinics every month. Bring previous rabies certificates with your pet to the clinic. Advice to Owners of Dogs and Cats Newly Vaccinated or Those Too Young for Vaccination

Dogs and Cats – Licenses – All dogs and cats over the age of six months must be licensed with the Township.  New registrations are taken throughout the year. Dog and cat licenses are renewable thru January 31st, after February 1st, a late penalty of $5.00 will be charged. NO LICENSES WILL BE ISSUED WITH A RABIES VACCINE THAT EXPIRES AFTER OCTOBER 31ST OF THE LICENSE YEAR.

Rabies Clinic – A current rabies vaccination is needed to register each animal.  Rochelle Park offers a rabies clinic in January of every year free to residents.  For date of clinic please check the calendar or contact the Clerk’s office at #201-587-7730 ext. 2000, 2002.

Leash Law – Dogs must be leashed with off the owner’s premises. 

Dogs barking – No dog may habitually bark of cry between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM.  Also no dog may be left unattended which habitually barks or cries. 

Curbing of dogs – Owners must immediately remove any feces deposited by their dog on the curb line or on other public property.  Feces should be placed in a closed bag and discarded with the owners garbage.  No person shall allow their dog to defecate upon any public or private property except with the permission of the property owner.  No resident shall discard feces in the Township’s storm drain.
