Committeeman Jay Kovalcik was appointed to serve on the Rochelle Park Township Committee after a favorable vote from the County Committee and a unanimous vote from the four remaining members of the Township Committee to fill a vacancy left by the untimely passing of his father, Kenneth Kovalcik, the Deputy Mayor in 2006/2007.  Jay has intentions of campaigning for the 2008 – 2011 term.

I am a 33+ year resident, born and raised in Rochelle Park, which gives me the insight and motivation to enhance the “small town” environment which I have come to love and cherish over the years.  I have been an active member of the community dedicating my time to the Rochelle Park Planning Board and the United Republican Club of Rochelle Park for the past 6+ years and holding the office of Treasurer in the latter of the two.

I have been married to my wife Kim for the past 5 years, we purchased a home on Bennett Ave and we have a 2 1/2 year old son name Konnor with a second son on the way in July ’07!  My wife is a Registered Nurse at Hackensack University Medical Center and works in the “Mother/Baby” department for the past 8 years.

Professionally, I am a National Business Services Area Manager for Cingular Wireless, now the new AT&T where I have been employed for the past 13 years.  I am responsible for the day to day operation for a 300+ employee call center located in Paramus with responsibilities including: budget balancing, quality & performance management and Human Resource partnering in a fast paced business environment.
