The Township of Rochelle Park is served by a full-time professionally trained Police Department. Headed by Chief Robert Flannelly, the police department consists of 20 sworn police officers, five civilian dispatchers, and a secretary. Police headquarters is located at 151 W. Passaic Street, is staffed 24 hours per day, and can be reached at (201) 843-1515.

Any questions regarding public safety guidelines should be directed to the Police Department at (201) 843-1515.

The Police Department staffs a Patrol Division, Traffic Safety Division, and a Detective Division.

The most active division is the Patrol Division. Through the use of vehicle patrol and, where appropriate, bicycle patrol, this division patrols Township roads, Bergen County roads, and NJ State Highway Route #17.

The Traffic Safety Division studies traffic conditions in the Township with an eye towards improving the safe and efficient flow of traffic. Site-plan applications are reviewed for new construction from a traffic safety perspective, and DWI enforcement is actively scheduled. Periodic random radar assignments are scheduled. This division also staffs and coordinates school crossing guards at five locations.

The Detective Division investigates all crimes occurring in the Township. This division works with adjacent towns, sharing information to solve crimes and to return stolen property.
